Meghan Twohig

Meghan Twohig is passionate about empowering women to take charge of their own backcountry adventures and outdoor dreams (the crazier, the better). She has been a member of Vail Mountain Rescue Group since 2019 and currently serves as a field member specializing in technical rope work, backcountry skiing, and navigation as well as assistant director of Operations. Meghan is also a rescue tech on the Colorado Hoist Rescue Team, partnering with the Colorado Army National Guard to perform technical helicopter rescues throughout the state of Colorado. She has worked for the mapping app CalTopo since May 2020 and currently handles recreational training, partnerships, and marketing. Prior to CalTopo, she earned a MA in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Connecticut and worked in a variety of fields, including as a high school teacher, EMT, and mountain bike coach. Meghan loves spending time with her dog Luka Thunder and exploring the mountains outside of her home in Minturn, CO, and beyond.
