Kim Walker

Kim Walker turned a lifelong passion for movement, mountain adventure, and healthy living into a thriving career — and a mission to help more women feel confident in the outdoors. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in English from the College of Wooster, Kim moved west and immersed herself in the alpine lifestyle that drew her to Colorado. With over 30 years of experience in retail — spanning home furnishings, interior design, and fashion — she recognized a notable gap in women-specific outdoor and ski gear. Together with her partner, Michael Callas, she launched Outdoor DIVAS in Boulder in 2002, and later relocated the business to Vail in 2016 with Michael and Managing Partner, Lauren Engle. Through this twenty-plus-year venture, Kim has created a welcoming environment where women can shop, gear up, and feel empowered without intimidation.

As a recognized leader in women’s outdoor gear and apparel, Kim has partnered with top ski and outdoor brands to bring women-focused design to life. She’s shared her expertise at national events such as the Outdoor Industry Rendezvous and the Ski Industry Association of America summit and was named one of SBG Magazine’s “Top 40 Under 40.” Kim also served nine years on the Boards of the Outdoor Industry Association and the Outdoor Foundation, supporting initiatives that expand access to outdoor recreation.

When she’s not working, Kim is outside — skiing powder in Vail, hiking Colorado’s peaks, or exploring the islands and mountains of Greece. She lives in Vail with her husband, Michael, their son, Nyko, and their shop dog, Rado.
